P06 – INFLATABLE HABITAT
lightweight and flexible lunar habitat
“We are looking forward to creating a safe space for scientific inventions and together with the other IGLUNA projects to embrace our knowledge, do experiments and reach the Moon.”
about.
The Inflatable Lunar Habitat is a flexible, inflatable dome construction with a visible inflatable structural system. It could be used in different extreme conditions around the world. The aim is to achieve a high level of flexibility, so that assembling, disassembling and transportation are something anyone can do. The interior space is separated by an airlock and offers room for scientific experiments. The Inflatable Habitat will be tested for its lightweight, stability, light conditions and climate regulation (heat loss, heat exchange, humidity, etc.).
The P06 Inflatable Habitat team consists of students of architecture and engineering, under the supervision of professors from the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg in Germany.
The project is the continuation and enhancement of the IGLUNA 2020 Habitat concept.
