P15 – POWERHAB

Complete power system

“IGLUNA provides a platform to share and develop our power system technologies and scientific research with experts and other project groups from around the world. Collaborating on this international project is a fantastic opportunity for us to contribute to shaping the future of human settlement in space.”

about.

The PowerHab IGLUNA 2020 team comprises of a group of motivated PhD and Masters students from the University of Strathclyde working towards creating a complete power system for long-term space missions consisting of a mix of solar, thermal, dynamic or space-based energy harvesting concepts.

The power system will accommodate power generation, distribution, storage, harvesting and control on the moon whilst assuring sufficient power is provided to a lunar base and its inhabitants. IGLUNA offers us a test-bed environment necessary to demonstrate the integration of our developed power system through a sustained power supply to the lunar habitat.
