P09 – CONCEPTLAB

Lunar repair shop

update.

The team is not part of IGLUNA anymore. We wish them good luck for their future projects with Conceptlab and hoped that the adventure from September 2019 to February 2020 has been enriching and constructive for their studies and upcoming careers.

“Head in the clouds, feet on the ground.”

about.

In this project, the aim is to design a modular, motorized hand-held multitool that can be used on the Moon. It will make an astronaut able to repair/maintain products like the habitat, rover, plant grow systems, solar panels and electrical systems in or outside of the lunar habitat. The tool is designed to operate under the extreme environment on the lunar surface (influx of extreme temperature, radiation and vacuum). The aim is a tool that can repair most of the products that are being used on the moon. Information about all the utensils that are being used on the moon will be analysed. With that information we will design the ultimate multitool to repair most of the defects that may occur.

The P09 ConceptLab team is a group of industrial design students that are based in Zwolle, the Netherlands.

update.

The team is unfortunately not part of IGLUNA anymore. In the frame of the Critical Design Review in February 2020, the team did not meet the requirements and was unfortunately taken out of Igluna. We wish them good luck for their future projects with Conceptlab and hoped that the adventure from September 2019 to February 2020 has been enriching and constructive for their studies and upcoming careers.
