ICE Cubes Services
19 April 2018
The International Space Station (ISS) is a great international achievement, designed as a
flexible laboratory able to support science and applications in a wide range of disciplines.
However, making use of the ISS is still perceived as not attractive for a large number of
potential users, due to the burden of complex rules, long procedures associated with
developing and operating equipment on-board the ISS and the related cost.
Yet, things are now changing.
Based on a public-private partnership (PPP) agreement with ESA, the International
Commercial Experiment Cubes (ICE Cubes) service is now providing for a commercial
access service to the ISS, that is fast, simple and affordable, creating opportunities to run
experiments, applications and technology demonstrations for any public or private
entity / user.
About the event
This info meeting introduces ICE CUBES services and its capabilities. In the first part of the meeting, the participants learn what ICE Cubes can offer for their research in terms of fast and affordable access to space and the International Space Station. The second part is dedicated to identifying ideas and disruptive solutions in thematic discussion clusters with those with related scientific interests. As well as networking and collaboration opportunities and for R&D matchmaking and innovation exchange in the framework of the ICE Cubes service.
